WOWS: Women of the Woodlands - May 2014
Women
of the
WoodlandsOur luau can only be described as a feast for the senses! Cathe, Margaret, Reni and Susan transformed the meeting room into a feast for the eyes. Their festive decor created a virtual 'tropical paradise", and the guests added to the ambiance b,/ dressing in their most colorful island apparel. The Hawaiian music was a feast for the ears...and Kalani kept us on our toes with a lesson on how to do a hula dance. We even had a "hula" hoop contest...with prizes for the winners!!

Ginny and Doris concocted a very tasty rum & pineapple punch, and let's see...how can I describe the feast of food that was prepared for our palates by Jean Pallatto and her crew of Doris, Diana, Barbara K., Marrianne, Ginny, and Joyce C. First off I can tell you it was abundant! Then I'll tell you it was scrumptious. The marinated chicken kabobs were succulent. The fried rice was fragrant with aroma. The spring rolls were crisp and flavorful: the boneless pork ribs were tender and juicy: the fresh fruit bowls (pictured here) were ripe and tasty. Last...but not least...was the variety of choices at the spectacular dessert table. My goodness! These ladies really know how to cook and bake.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who helped to make this party such a success. As I said that night in my welcome speech... "IT TAKES A VILLAGE". And it certainly took the myriad talents of the entire club to make this final party of the year the outstanding success that it was.

We are currently taking reservations for the May officer installation luncheon being held at the Gulf Harbors Yacht Club. The date is Wednesday, May 14 at 12 noon. The cost is $14.50. Call MaryJean Sandberg or Barbara K. or me for menu information and to reserve your spot.

Yours in friendship, Margaret Mardyniak
