Archive: Easter Egg Hunt a Success!
Children
of the
WoodlandsEgg Hunt The Children of the Woodlands held its first annual Easter Egg Hunt at Woodlands’ Field this past Saturday, April 19th. The weather could not of cooperated any better than it did. The event was held under blue skies with perfect temperatures and a slight breeze. Any noon heat was eliminated by the gracious shade of the oak trees.

Event organizers, Tina Anfuso, Beth Belloise, and Chris Belloise were there to ensure that everything was set and everyone had a great time. Beth Belloise was happy with the turn out for the event, “It’s great. Look at all the smiles on the children – that’s what this is all about!” There were an equal amount of smiles on the faces of the parents and other attending adults too.

An estimated 25 children and 35 adults came out to enjoy the event. Although the Easter Egg Hunt was the most anticipated activity, the moonwalk was a giant hit with the children and some adults too. Over 1000 Easter Eggs were stuffed with goodies for the event and their colors covered the field just prior to the hunt.

In addition, the children enjoyed participating and winning prizes in the Bunny Hop Sack and Egg Relay races. Most races were initiated with a, “On your mark! Camera’s ready? GO!” as there appeared to be at least two cameras trained at each child to capture all the great memories.

Free open-grilled hotdogs, chips and soda were served throughout the day. Face painting and tattoos were applied to the children’s delight. The day ended with a raffle. The prizes awarded included an 18 inch 14K gold necklace, 10K gold anklet, a limited edition, numbered and signed lithograph titled “Ultimate Spider-Man”, a limited edition lithograph titled, “Spider-Man in the Rain”, one year of web hosting and domain name registration by GulfHarborsLife.com, and two jazz music CD’s, “All About Time” by Woodlands' recording artist, Todd Haddad.

The Woodlands community has seen a sharp increase in the children population and the Children of the Woodlands have organized these events to address their needs and to raise children awareness in the community.

After the event ended, Beth Belloise commented, “(The event) was wonderful today. Everything was so beautiful, the decorations, the weather, the children, and all the volunteers. And it was so nice to come out here and use this field instead of just driving by it on the way to the clubhouse!”
